A FORTY YEAR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY
The Oriental plaza prides itself in its community. This shopping centre always is aware of the needs of others, as winter approaches the Oriental Plaza makes a special request to collect warm blankets; setting up a store for drop offs and collection to the local community and underprivileged.
In 2009 over 1000 blankets were distributed to various charities.
GANDI CHARITY WALK
To continue with history they have an annual Gandhi Charity Walk, the theme of the April 2009 event was peace, as always the community never fails to participate in these events. Over 3000 participants showed up to show of as it compliments its wonderful and consistent history of events.
ACCOMMODATING TRADERS WHEN ALL OTHERS TURNED THEIR BACKS
A rich legacy with historic links. We commemorate the forced removal of Fietas traders and their subsequent move to the Oriental Plaza which became a landmark that has stood the test of time. We always acknowledge the traders at the Oriental Plaza for their tenacity and integrity.
